In March Apple unveiled the iPhone SE, a successor to the aging iPhone 5S. The SE is Apple’s most affordable iPhone to date, but still maintains flagship levels of performance like the iPhone 6S. Here are 8 things that you should know about the iPhone SE

1. You can use your iPhone 5/5S accessories with it.

The iPhone SE uses a “beloved” design, allowing users to re-use their pre-existing cases, battery banks, camera accessories and dock systems. Simply put, it’s the same beautiful design with some refinements.

2. It has the same rear camera as iPhone 6S.

If you are a shutterbug on a budget, iPhone SE might be for you. Featuring the same 12 Megapixel sensor as its bigger brother, the iPhone SE offers a nearly identical camera experience like 4K video recording, live photos and amazing still shots for a lot less cash. $250 less to be precise.

3. iPhone SE features the A9 chip, just like 6S and 6S Plus.

Inside iPhone SE breaths the powerful A9 processor. This allows the phone to feel lightning fast while also being more battery efficient than iPhone 5S. With a smaller screen, it’s easier to reach everything with one hand, getting more done in less time.

4. You can activate Siri with just your voice.

A feature debuted on iOS 8, it required your iPhone to be connected to a charger to activate the feature. With iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, you could activate Siri without being plugged into a charger by saying “Hey Siri”. That feature has now made its way to the iPhone SE, enabling you to get more out of your phone while doing less.

5. The screen is the same as iPhone 5S.

Tired of hearing that the 6S and 6S Plus screens cost an arm and a leg to repair? Well you’ll be glad to hear that iPhone SE uses similar LCD panels as iPhone 5S. Getting something new doesn’t always mean $$$$$.

6. The Facetime HD camera is still 1.2MP, but you get the Retina Flash.

Like it or not, selfies are a part of our daily lives. While the front facing camera didn’t get the same upgrade as iPhone 6 to 6S, iPhone SE did gain the ability to use the screen as a flash, allowing you to get better selfies in low light.

7. The maximum storage is 64 GB.

If you were hoping for 128 GB on iPhone SE then you’ll be sad to hear that it’s maximum storage is 64 GB. In most cases that will be more than enough for the typical user. Even moderate power users will have plenty of space for apps, documents, contacts and photos.

8. You get Apple Pay in a 4 inch iPhone.

Apple added Apple Pay with Touch ID to iPhone SE. This allows you to use your iPhone to pay for something at the places you shop simply, quickly and securely.
