Q: When shipping in my item. Should I include any accessories?

You only need to send the device. Do not include any accessories. Accessories that should not be sent are: A/V and power cables, controllers, game cases, cooling fans and or any customized accessories. In the event they are mailed to us, we will do our best to ship them back to you free of charge with your order.

Q: How do I get my broken device repaired with Gophermods?

Q: What do you mean by your sixty day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee?

If we cannot repair your device, or if you are unsatisfied with our easy-to-use repair solutions, we offer a sixty (60) day money back guarantee. You will receive a refund of the original repair cost minus any shipping fees. If your unit is defective within the the sixty day period, the unit must be made available for inspection to qualify. If any parts are installed, the device must be returned and any parts removed.

Q: I ordered a UPS prepaid label, but where is it?

UPS labels are generated through a link in your Gophermods.com Order Confirmation E-mail. In this e-mail that you receive when you process an order, there will be a UPS link to the UPS Returns on the web platform powered through UPS.com. Select your label and print it from there. FREE UPS Ground labels are only available for domestic US customers in the 48 contiguous states. Alaska and Hawaii are not eligible for free UPS ground labels.

Q: I ordered a UPS Ground prepaid label, but I can select options for next day air????

When generating your UPS Label, customers have to fill out all their respective information to generate their label. You must select the same shipping service that you ordered, otherwise you will be billed for the service you select on UPS.com. For example: If you selected "E-mail me a UPS Ground Prepaid Shipping Label" You must select "Ground" from the drop down menu. If you select "Next Day Air", you will be billed the difference of the shipping services, which can be substantial.

Q: I ordered a UPS Ground prepaid label, but how much insurance does it have? Does it have any?

All of our UPS Prepaid Shipping labels have increased insurance values. This insurance protects against damages, theft, lost or mishandled packages while in UPS care.

All iPhones/Smartphones/Tablets Insured Value: $400 - Free with Prepaid Label

All iPods Insured Value: $200 - Free with Prepaid Label

All Nintendo Wiis Insured Value: $150 - Free with Prepaid Label

All PlayStation 3 Consoles Insured Value: $300 - Free with Prepaid Label

NOTE: You must select what item you are shipping on Returns on the Web. If you ordered an iPhone Repair, you must select " iPhone/Smartphone" from the drop down menu. If you order an iPhone repair, but select "Nintendo Wii" from the drop down menu, your iPhone will only be insured for $150.00.

Q: I am located in Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, or Alaska. Will you still take my order?

We will still accept your order if you are located in Hawaii or Alaska. There might be an additional shipping charge due to the extra cost to ship to these locations. Our UPS prepaid labels are not available if you are located in Hawaii or Alaska.

We no longer accept orders from Canada or Mexico. We only work with US territories. Unfortunately, due to customs fees, expensive shipping rates and turnaround times. We cancelled Canadian orders on May 1st, 2013.

Q: I am new to shipping. How do I ship?

After placing an order. Simply take a copy of your receipt, the device you are sending in to repair and take it to your local shipping center. UPS Stores and FedEx Kinkos stores will be able to professionally package your unit for as little as $5.00 to ensure maximum protection during shipping. Once the unit is packed. Simply provide the UPS or FedEx clerk with the shipping address that we will provide you, and your done! We'll take care of it from there.

Q: Where do I ship to?

After completing an order. You will receive an e-mail confirmation with a copy of your receipt and shipping instructions. For quick and easy reference, our address is posted at the bottom of the web site. For more help with shipping, check out our Shipping Help & Information page.

Q: Is there shipping insurance with your free return shipping?

Our free return shipping comes with free $100.00 UPS insurance coverage. Shipments with only $100 UPS insurance do not require an adult signature. UPS will leave the package at the front or back door, if no one is available to sign for the package. If the buyer would like additional insurance, the buyer must purchase the shipping insurance from the associated drop down menu. It is the buyers obligation to ask for additional insurance, any damages or lost or stolen property will only be covered up to $100.00. Any additional shipping insurance covers return shipping (back to you, the customer).

Q: Is an adult signature required for package deliveries from UPS?

All shipments that order additional insurance include a "signature confirmation". If no additional insurance is purchased,UPS will leave the package at the front or back door if no one is available to sign for the package.

Q: I'm receiving by device back from warranty work, is there any return shipping insurance?

A: Yes. We match the same insurance you originally purchased with your first order. For example, if you requested $300 return shipping insurance on your initial order, your warranty return will also receive $300 return shipping insurance. In the event no additional insurance was purchased, all orders receive the free $100 insurance coverage provided by UPS.

 

Payment Options

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

During checkout, you can select one of four payment methods. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express through our secure credit card processor. In addition, we accept PayPal, Google Checkout and Personal Checks.

When paying with a Personal Check. Please include it inside the package when shipping. Do not mail separately.

Special Note: When paying via Credit Card through our secure credit card processor, your card will not be billed until services are complete.

Q: What is PayPal?

PayPal is a payment method for online purchases enabling buyers and businesses to send and receive money online. As of today, PayPal has over 100 million member accounts in 190 countries and regions. One advantage of using PayPal payment method is that it offers faster, safer and easier checkouts and promises to protect customers from revealing their credit card and other financial information to the merchant.

 

Warranty Help & Questions

Q: What does the warranty cover?

A: Warranties only cover the repair performed. For example, if you had a Blu-Ray drive repair, your warranty covers only the Blu-Ray drive. In the event your console develops other common issues, i.e the Yellow Light of Death. That is not covered under warranty.

If you had a LCD/Glass replacement on your iPhone or BlackBerry. The warranty only covers defective parts. If the phone is dropped, lost, or damaged. The warranty does not cover a full replacement; however, we are more than glad to offer a discount.

Q: I tampered with my console. Do I receive any warranty if you repair it? Will you even accept it?

A: Any consoles that have been severely tampered with will receive no warranty. If we inspect the motherboard, and can see evidence of someone else attempting a DIY repair then there will be no extended warranties available to purchase or any standard warranty. Motherboard repairs will still qualify for our out of warranty program. E-mail, support@gophermods.com, and we'll see what we can do for you though.

Q: By sending in my console or phone to Gophermods, do I void the warranty?

A: Yes. Although in most cases, we do the absolute best we can to preserve any original warranty seals or holograms. For complete warranty coverage information, please visit our warranty page.

 

General Console Repair Questions

Q: How long do repairs take?

As soon as your package is received, on average repairs take only 24-72 hours to be repaired, minus holidays and weekends. In the event there is a delay you will be notified. UPS and FedEx both deliver in the afternoon at our shop, your device is often shipped back out the following day with UPS. When your unit is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via e-mail from UPS.

Q: What if my unit is not fixable or damaged beyond repair?

In the unfortunate event we are unable to repair your console or phone, we will return your unit to you without any inspection or bench fees. Customers utilizing our UPS Ground and UPS Next Day Air labels will receive a refund minus shipping charges of $19.99 for ground and additional fees may apply if a Next Day Air label was used.

Q: Is the reflow method to repair the YLOD a permanent repair?

No, there are no 100% permanent repairs on the market for this type of hardware failure. This type of issue has no permanent repair. We have seen our repairs last as long as two years, and as short as two months. The average life of a console after it has been reflowed once is in the 7-9 month range. If the unit fails outside of warranty, we provide one labor free out of warranty repair and you will only need to cover shipping.

Q: What is the free out of warranty program for YLOD repairs?

As a courtesy, we offer one labor free out of warranty repair for our yellow light of death playstation 3 repairs. Meaning for example, if your PS3 was fixed for a yellow light in December 2011, and your free six month warranty expired in June 2012, you are eligible to send in your console for one labor free repair outside of that period. We will repair the unit for free, and all we ask for is return shipping fees. Only one out of warranty is eligible per order. There is no additional warranty on top of any free warranty repairs we do, meaning, you do not receive another six months of warranty. Q: Will I lose data or saved games on my hard drive?

You should not lose any information. Unless your hard drive is damaged, you will not lose any saved games, demos, music or photos. If you want a hard drive upgrade, we transfer all your data to the new hard drive. Hard drive upgrades are for Sony PlayStation 3 consoles only.

Q: Do I need to include my hard drive in my console?

You don't need to include your hard drive with your PlayStation 3 or XBOX 360 console. We prefer them for testing, but if you don't want to include them, that is fine.

Q: I cannot get my game,movie,disc out of my drive. My console won't power up. Will it be returned?

We guarantee you will receive your game, movie, or disc back that is in your PlayStation 3 console. Other companies can't guarantee that they "won't lose it." Additionally if your disc is lost, it will be replaced for FREE!

Q: By sending in my console or phone to Gophermods, do I void the warranty?

Q: Do I receive my original console back?

Of course! Compared to sending your console into Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft. The repair service you select guarantees you will receive your original console or phone back, we repair your original device, and have it shipped back to you within one or two businesses day.

Q: I tampered with my console. Do I receive any warranty if you repair it? Will you even accept it?

Any consoles that have been severely tampered with will receive no warranty. If we inspect the motherboard, and can see evidence of someone else attempting a DIY repair. Q: How long do phone repairs take?

As soon as your phone is received, on average repairs take only 24 hours to be repaired, minus holidays and weekends. In the event there is a delay you will be notified. When your unit is shipped, you will receive a tracking number via e-mail from UPS.

Most local customers can have their phones serviced in less than 2 hours, depending on the availability of the phone technicians.

Q: Will I lose any stored information on my phone?

No! We never erase or reformat your phone unless completely necessary. We will immediately contact you in the event that your phone does need to be formatted. We highly recommend all customers to backup their phones before shipping them in, just to be extra safe!

Q: Do I receive my original phone back after repairs?

Of course! Compared to sending your console into Apple, HTC, Samsung or RIM.. The repair service you select guarantees you will receive your phone back, we repair your original device, and have it shipped back to you within one business day.

Q: I tampered with my phone. Do I receive any warranty if you repair it? Will you even accept it?

If you have had your phone replaced before, that is perfectly fine. If you are in the process of working on your phone, and gave up on the repairs. Please package everything nicely before shipping it to us, or reassemble it the the best you can. We will not warranty any phone we are unable to test prior to the repair.

Q: Do I need to include any accessories with my phone?

No, please only send your phone only!

Q: What if my phone is not fixable or damaged beyond repair?

Q: My phone is not listed on the Gophermods website, can you still fix it?

We probably can! Please send us an e-mail to support@gophermods.com, or contact us at 1-612-354-2937. Check us out on Facebook too and I'm sure we can fix your phone. New phones are introduced weekly, it is hard to keep the website consistently updated! Chances are, we've already fixed your before and can give you an accurate quote.
